There is a family dentistry business that somehow keeps coming up. You can feel the years of reporting packed into every episode.

That said, 11 years is a long time to stretch across four or five hours, and the middle episodes occasionally feel like they're circling the same custody paperwork. The case is fascinating, but the pacing sometimes treats every legal filing like a cliffhanger.
