Shrinking is the kind of show that sneaks up on you. It starts as a sharp comedy about a therapist struggling with grief, but quickly becomes something much warmer — a story about broken people finding their way back through friendship, honesty, and a lot of questionable decisions.

The magic is in the dynamics. Jason Segel brings a perfect mix of sadness and humour as Jimmy, surrounded by a cast of characters who are messy, funny, and impossible not to care about. Harrison Ford steals scenes as the grumpy but wise mentor you never knew you needed, while the friendships at the centre of the show feel genuine and earned.

The neighbours, friends, and accidental support network are the show's secret weapon. They are chaotic, intrusive, and exactly the kind of people you'd secretly love to have in your life. Shrinking understands that sometimes healing doesn't come from having everything figured out — it comes from having people who show up, even when you're a disaster.

Funny, heartfelt, and surprisingly emotional, Shrinking balances grief and comedy better than most shows dare to try. It's a reminder that the best sitcoms aren't just about making you laugh — they're about making you feel like you're part of the family.
