Nobody Wants This is powered almost entirely by chemistry, and honestly? That is enough. Kristen Bell and Adam Brody talk to each other like people who genuinely enjoy talking to each other, which sounds simple and is apparently the hardest thing in the world to fake.

The premise — agnostic podcaster falls for a rabbi — could have been a sitcom punchline, but the show plays it straight and lets the actual complications do the work. Faith, family, and the quiet horror of introducing someone to the people who raised you. It is breezy without being weightless, and the dialogue snaps.

Where it wobbles is everyone else. The sisters and brothers orbiting the central pair get flattened into obstacles, and a couple of the women are written with a meanness the show never quite interrogates. When the plot needs friction it reaches for a misunderstanding that a single text message would solve.

Still, you will watch the whole thing in two sittings and immediately want more. Not perfect, deeply enjoyable, and the best possible thing to put on when your brain is fried.
