Cape Fear
“Nostalgic, thrilling and Javier Bardem at his best.”
Javier Bardem was made to play this role. As Max Cady, he is the reason to watch Cape Fear — a casting choice that makes immediate sense for a character built around menace and revenge.
The Apple TV series follows married attorneys Anna and Tom Bowden, played by Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson. When Max Cady, the killer they helped put behind bars, is released from prison, he returns with a grudge and begins infiltrating their family’s lives.
The appeal is that collision between a family trying to protect itself and a man determined to make them afraid.
Although the children are frustratingly naive, their role in the story is essential to Max Cady’s plan for revenge.
A nostalgic watch that leaves you wondering, will there be a season 2?
