Based on a True Story

Where to watch →“True-crime satire with a body count and a wink.”
Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina are having an obscene amount of fun here, and it's contagious. The premise — pregnant realtor and washed-up tennis pro decide monetizing a live murderer is a great side hustle — sounds like a bit, but Peacock actually commits to the bit for two full seasons. Tom Bateman is genuinely unsettling as the Westside Ripper turned reluctant business partner, and the show has real things to say about our appetite for true-crime content without ever getting preachy. It's sharp, it's glossy, it's meaner than it looks. Watch it before someone spoils the finale.
